Bestie’d so hard, we’re blogging and you’re here to read it. AHH! We are so glad you’re here!! Our team has grown and changed so much over the years, that we felt it was about time to re introduce ourselves. Buckle in besties - the MSSCG has arrived!!

OK - who are you guys?

Well, good question. We are the Mighty Sound of the South Colorguard, a small part of the University of Memphis band. Our team stands on the field every weekend during football season to cheer on the Tigers with the MSS! Our season starts in August and ends…well…whenever the football season ends. Maybe there isn’t an *exact* ending date, but who cares? We’re having fun out there so it’s all good. The cute uniforms and fun travel games make it worth the work :)

Our team hosts auditions for incoming freshman (and other interested college students) every April! We make sure to post all the audition info on our Instagram, so go follow us @memphis.colorguard and check it out (shameless plug who cares.) There is so much that goes into auditions, so for real, follow us so you can be overly prepared. It goes so much smoother that way, trust us! You’ll get to meet the staff and returning members and it’s just such a fun time that we don’t want you to miss anything :)

Our group grows and changes every season, which makes it all the more fun. You meet new people, try new things and make memories that last a lifetime! I mean look how cute our 2025 Fall Line was, are you kidding?!

Honestly, we just feel so grateful for how many people we’ve met and become friends with. Like c’mon! This is not the kind of friendship to take lightly!!

This blogging thing is kind of hard - much respect to all the blogger moms out there. We see you! We just wanted to hop in here and show our face, tell you who we are and that we are so grateful to have you here. Until next time, besties!
